Detailed Description
Though closely modelled on Yamaha’s immensely popular U1, the YUS1 is refined in a number of ways, and which sets it apart in terms of tonal quality and overall appearance. Unlike the U1, for instance, the YUS1 uses premium hammer felt, being the same as that used in Yamaha’s flagship CFX Concert Grand.
The result of this is a sound which has a far wider dynamic range than the U1, with greater power, depth, and a wider range of tonal colours throughout the compass of the instrument. In addition to this, the bass strings are wound with copper by hand rather than machine (as with the U1), so the bass is far more resonant and rounded in character. The cabinet is also finished by hand, and so the casework boasts a higher level of elegance and refinement when compared to that of the U1.
