Detailed Description

Thanks to a comprehensive redesign, these world-standard instruments are better than ever, with numerous advances in materials and construction. Refined scale designs and components improve tonal performance, while other modifications enhance strength and durability. Extra-wide music desks provide plenty of room for sheet music. The U Series sets extraordinary standards of elegance and excellence, incorporating concepts adapted from Yamaha grand pianos.

Built in the same factory as the CX Grands – Hamamatsu, Japan – the U1 is built to a very high standard, and is one of the very most popular pianos in the world for good reason. It is an industry-standard instrument that can be found in homes, schools and other institutions around the world, and is played by amateurs and professionals alike. In addition to its unrivalled durability, its use of high-quality solid spruce (sourced from Alaska) soundboards and specially selected hammer felt, which is derived from refined lambswool, ensures that these instruments have a warmth and clarity to their sound which is truly unmatched.

Disklavier ENSPIRE

The state-of-the-art Disklavier ENSPIRE system transforms this instrument into a complete entertainment system that can be easily controlled using the ENSPIRE Controller app (Apple and Android). You can have the piano play from any of the 500 built-in songs, from the MusicSoft library of several thousand titles (purchasable), or the Disklavier Radio streaming service. In each of these cases the piano uses solenoids (electromagnets) which activate the hammers and pedals, and acoustically play specially pre-recorded performances, authentically reproducing ever tiny nuance of touch. You can even record yourself and hear the piano perform your own playing! In addition to this, this model includes the SH Silent System, which allows you to practice through headphones, without disturbing others, as well as MIDI connectivity, meaning that you can connect the piano to a computer and thus use it as a MIDI controller.
