Detailed Description
This Yamaha U1A was built in the late 1980’s during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan, and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.
This example has a full and singing sound across the keyboard, with a rounded depth in the bass, a resonant and full middle section, and a bell-like treble. The action is medium-heavy for a responsive and controlled touch.
Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet is in overall excellent condition.
