Detailed Description

This Yamaha U1H was built in the mid-late 1970’s, during Yamaha’s Golden Age of piano building, when all of the manufacturing took place in Japan, and by the very best craftsmen. The materials used were of the highest quality, and so the pianos from this era are famed for being highly durable, retaining their quality for many decades.

This example has an open and bright sound across its range, with a deep-sounding bass, an open and singing middle section, and a glistening treble. The action is medium-heavy, and so offers a lot of control for all playing types.

The retrofitted Korg Silent System allows the player to practice through headphones whilst retaining the piano’s normal hammer action. The control unit is discreetly placed underneath the keyboard.

Overall, it is a highly versatile instrument suitable for students and professionals. It has been maintained and tuned to the highest standards, and will give many more decades of good service in the future. The cabinet is in excellent condition, for its age.
