Detailed Description

Thanks to a comprehensive redesign, these world-standard instruments are better than ever, with numerous advances in materials and construction. Refined scale designs and components improve tonal performance, while other modifications enhance strength and durability. Extra-wide music desks provide plenty of room for sheet music. The U Series sets extraordinary standards of elegance and excellence, incorporating concepts adapted from Yamaha grand pianos.

Being 10cm taller than the U1, the U3 has a fuller and more resonant tonal quality due to its longer strings, larger soundboard, and larger cabinet. And this is further enhanced by its use of a ‘floating’ soundboard, which the U1 does not contain. Another difference is the U3’s having a sostenuto middle pedal, similar to those found on most modern-day grand pianos. The U Series as a whole is rightly considered industry standard, and are incredibly popular the world over, being used in schools, institutions, private homes and so on. They are highly valued for their durability, reliability, and their tonal and tactile qualities.
