Find Out About Our Range of Yamaha Pianos

With over 150 years of experience making pianos, Yamaha has become a household name, known for its quality and value for money in the music industry. At Richard Lawson Pianos, we stock a wide selection of Yamaha pianos, and today we’re going to focus on some of our recommended pianos across the range.

Yamaha Pianos

Our range of pianos includes both Yamaha Grand Pianos and Yamaha Upright Pianos. In an upright piano, the una chorda pedal works by replacing hammers closer to the strings, to make the piano play softer, whilst in a grand piano, the hammers are moved over and strike two strings. A grand is usually bigger in size, producing a stronger bass sounds, often easier to play at a faster pace. We stock the smallest 150cm Yamaha Grand Pianos, to the largest 9ft Concert Grand Piano, with models suitable for both the house and the concert hall. Similarly, we have a variety of sizes for the Yamaha Upright Piano. The U1 is 121cm high, with the possibility for a hand-finished UX1 cross-braced model. On the other hand, the U3 model is taller at 131cm, which provides more tonal depth, and also available in an X version.

Yamaha Disklavier Pianos

Our selection of Yamaha Disklavier Pianos includes both a Grand and Upright option. This technology enables you to record yourself as you play, and then to listen back to what you have played, with a magical full moving key and automated pedals. This is particularly useful for those learning to play the piano at beginner level, but it is also ideal for seasoned players who want to hone their skills. As a product that is relatively new to the market, newer models are factory fitted as standard, but it is also possible to configure this technology to older models that have not already got the Disklavier system fitted. These pianos combine the fantastic Yamaha craftsmanship with countless hi-tech features that vary depending on the exact model you choose.

Yamaha Silent Pianos

Again, our Yamaha Silent Pianos are available in both Grand and Upright designs. The benefit of using this silent functionality is that you can switch off the acoustic sound so that it appears that you are playing silently to others, and you can still hear yourself by fitting the piano with headphones. This means you can practise late into the night, and you won’t disturb anyone you live with, so can play any time that suits you with minimal fuss.
